Easy Air Fryer Bagels

Here’s a fun new way to use that air fryer: bake easy bagels! These are the TikTok-famous, two-ingredient-style bagels (with a twist) that went viral for a good reason. Even if you’ve never made a bagel in your life, this small batch recipe makes it totally doable—and you’ll end up with four warm, chewy bagels before you know it. No yeast proofing, no boiling, no fuss. Just a fast, fun baking project that works great for smaller households.

You don’t even need a pot of boiling water or a dough hook to make these happen. The steps are a little weird (yes, you’re putting yogurt in bagel dough!) but the results speak for themselves. These bake up golden on the outside and soft in the middle, with that perfect homemade bagel feel. This is the kind of recipe you’ll want to brag about after trying just once
It’s easy, it’s fun, and it gives your air fryer a new job besides just reheating leftovers or making chicken. And because this recipe only makes four easy bagels, you’re not stuck with a dozen bagels that go stale before you can eat them. Whether you’re baking solo or just want a quick project, this one’s worth saving.

What You Need to Make This Recipe
Luckily, this recipe doesn’t really call for anything special. So that means you can find this recipe and make this recipe almost immediately.
- self-rising flour-see the easy conversion of all-purpose flour I added below!
- plain Greek yogurt
- egg (for egg wash)
- sesame seeds (optional)
Be sure to use plain Greek yogurt—not regular yogurt—so the dough holds together well. To make regular yogurt into Greek yogurt line a sieve with cheesecloth or coffee filters add regular yogurt and let the whey drain out for several hours. It’s ready when it’s very thick.

Only Have All-Purpose Flour?
If you don’t have self-rising flour and don’t want to buy it, no worries, we can make it! To make 1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour into self-rising flour, just mix together the following:
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Whisk together until thoroughly combined, and you’re good to go!

How to Change It Up
Add your favorite toppings besides sesame seeds before baking—try everything bagel seasoning, sesame seeds, or poppy seeds.
Sprinkle on cheese like cheddar, asiago, parmesan, or even crumbled feta in the last few minutes of air frying for a melty top.
Go bold with toppings like sliced jalapeños, chopped green olives, or sun-dried tomatoes for extra flavor.

Store Leftovers
Once cooled, keep bagels in a plastic bag in your bread drawer for up to two days.
Don’t need all four? Freeze a couple for later—just wrap tightly and stash in the freezer.
Or turn them into make-ahead breakfast sandwiches with egg, sausage, and cheese. Wrap and freeze, then microwave to reheat.
