About That Cayenne Pepper

This is one of those recipes that’s so flavorful without adding any heat, you can leave it out. The hearty flavors are fine without any heat. And perfect if you’re feeding anyone who doesn’t like a spicy kick to their food.

But maybe try a tiny pinch of cayenne for a little kick! Adding a little pinch is how I got started enjoying spice and heat.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper can leave out if it's too spicy
  • 1 TBSP light olive oil
  • 2 chicken thighs boneless, skinless, about 3/4 of a pound

Instructions
 

  • preheat the oven to 375°
  • toss all the spices and herbs together in a small bowl
  • pat the chicken dry
  • place the chicken in a mixing bowl
  • drizzle with oil and toss to coat
  • sprinkle with half of the seasoning mix, and turn to coat
  • sprinkle the other half of the seasoning over the chicken and turn to coat
  • place the chicken on a baking sheet
  • bake at 375° for 20-25 minutes or until the chicken it cooked through if you want to check it on a digital thermometer be sure to cook the chicken to 165°
  • serve hot
