Ingredients

  • 1 cup cranberries
  • Juice and zest of half an orange
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • Water

Instructions

  • Wash the cranberries and pick out stems or soft berries
  • Add the clean berries to a small saucepan
  • Juice the orange half, strain it into a measuring cup, and add enough water to make 1/3 cup liquid
  • Pour the juice mixture into the saucepan
  • Zest the orange half and add the zest to the berries
  • Cook over low heat for about 10 minutes until the berries start to pop
  • Taste the sauce and add extra sugar if you want it sweeter
  • Continue cooking for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until a spoon dragged across the bottom leaves a clear line that does not immediately fill in
  • Cool and serve with any dinner you like
